A one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment in St. Johns off Cameron Road, this unit measures 558 square feet and costs $780/month. It’s located in the Wildwood Apartments complex, which advertises plenty of surrounding green space, fireplaces, vaulted ceilings, and a friendly, attentive staff. Pets are allowed.

Located in one of the buzzier parts of East Riverside-Oltorf (or at least near the Buzzmill) is this 425-square-foot studio apartment with wood floors and a washer/dryer in the unit. It’s in a complex with a pool and parking, it’s pet-friendly, and it rents for $800/month.

A cute one-bedroom, one bathroom apartment can be had for $769/month in the northeast neighborhood of Windsor Hills. Located in a spiffed-up, mid-sized complex, the 614-square-foot unit has upgrades including wood-like flooring, oak cabinets, ceiling fans, and ample storage. Apartments have private balconies or a patios, and the community amenities include a fitness center, an outdoor pool table, and two leash-free dog parts. Pets are allowed, obviously, and there are no breed restrictions.

The 508-square-foot unit features a fireplace, a balcony, hardwood floors, and washer/dryer hookups. The pet-friendly community has a swimming pool and heated spa, a dog park, and a fitness center.
