We featured this new Bercy Chen contemporary in May, when it was on the market for a minute, asking $1.45 million. Now it’s back with a new listing and a higher price, looking as clean-lined and view-having as ever.

Located along the river in Austin Lake Estates (halfway between West Lake Hills and Steiner Ranch, more or less), the home comprises two separate houses that have a symmetry and similarity in style, but respond to their setting as well.

The exteriors juxtapose a stucco base with perforated Corten steel panels on the upper level (there is generous use of Corten throughout the structures), and floor-to-ceiling windows make for a smooth inside-outside transition. A hardwood roof deck and courtyards deepen the connection to the home’s Hill Country and Central Texas surroundings.

The 3,020-square-foot home has a total of five bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and one half-bathroom. Materials and finishes are equally important inside the residence, which has an open plan white oak floors, honed Lueders limestone, and Brazilian hard wood.

European cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and polished chrome hardware and fixtures throughout add elegance and style.

The home has Hill Country views and nearby Lake Austin access. It was featured on last year’s Austin Modern Homes Tour.
