Surprise, Austin! There’s a run in town this weekend!
Fine, you’re probably not surprised. If it’s not a festival, it’s a run, and it’s usually both.
The nature of Saturday’s run is a little surprising and can initially induce some eye-rolling—until one realizes it’s a for a serious cause and does some serious good. Cupid’s Undie Run, which presumably involves people running (a mile-ish, says the website) in their panties, manties, bras, or whatever else they consider underwear. It’s done in support of Cupid’s Charity, which raises money to find a cure for the rare genetic disorder neurofibromatosis (NF). For their own sakes, we hope runners consider body support as well when choosing undergarments (rundergarments?) for the jog.
Cupid’s Undie Run will close streets as follows—thanks, as always to Austin Downtown Alliance for the info.
