Small vintage home in Holly seeks just under $400K

Updated 1930 home with potential

Small wood-frame cottage, gray walls, white trim, red front door, small porch with peaked roof
2215 Santa Rita Street

Yes, this small, cute house is evidence (if you still need convincing) that home prices in East César Chavez and the Holly neighborhood just to its east are ... not what they used to be. In fact, proximity to downtown and the river, combined with the development of Saltillo Plaza and other mixed-use areas, have made the areas’ median home prices some of the fastest-growing in city (especially if you’re measuring price per square foot).

Nevertheless, it has a few things to recommend it. The overall asking price ($399,900 for 784 square feet) is within the general realm of many of the area’s condos, it’s move-in ready, it has a yard, and it’s in a quiet pocket of an area of the neighborhood that’s neither too far from nor too close to major thoroughfares with restaurants, a grocery store, and other amenities/necessities. Plus, many of the homes around it look modestly sized, and the petite cottage looks like a great vantage point from which to get to know the neighbors.

The home has three bedrooms and four bathrooms.
