After a couple of weeks with a break in marathons, festivals, and other miscellaneous events shutting down central-city streets, we are back to our more typical roster of public celebrating, memorializing, and shopping. Fittingly, road-closing events return in a modest form, highlighted by one-street the Pecan Street Festival, one of the longest-running arts, crafts, and music shindigs in the country and still Old-Austin-scaled.
The two-day, biannual festival this weekend shares Saturday with the usual Sustainable Food Center farmers market downtown and with the Silicon Labs Sunshine Run on Sunday. In addition, on Monday the Texas Peace Officers’ Memorial procession will travel through downtown. Information and maps below are from the Downtown Austin Alliance and Austin City Stage websites.
