Built in 1960, this Volente home brought the style of late midcentury modernism to the lake in classic form. At 1,160 square feet with two bedrooms and one bathroom, the home is compact (also classic for a period that had fewer McMansions), but its back deck and glass doors connect it to a roomy lot with lake access and views.

The home is a mix of historic materials and updates designed to fit the aesthetic. Original features include the mahogany walls, period cabinetry, and vintage hardware. Updates include new hardwood floors, stainless appliances, and modern bathroom finishes. The open plan, which looks original (with the possible exception of a later extension on the back of the house), features large windows and a sliding glass door to connect to a large deck and expansive yard.

The large lot has medium-sized shade trees and drought-tolerant landscaping, with a patio facing the lake in addition to the deck. Direct access to Lake Travis is available via an adjacent, shared path.
