Purists might take issue with some of the aspects of the remodeling and expansion of this midcentury modern home—the all-white interiors, the unabashedly contemporary bathroom and kitchen materials, the polished concrete floors in the addition—but most will find it wildly refreshing. Originally built in 1951, the home has been updated by notable Austin-based architecture firm Matt Garcia Design, while the award-winning local Pilgrim Building Company realized the vision. The flow of the design is excellent, with large, open spaces and floor-to-ceiling glass and a private center courtyard making the space welcoming and bright.

The one-story home, clad in a combination of brick and siding, measures 2,839 square feet. The main home has four bedrooms and three bathrooms and features wood and hard tile floors, built-in bookcases, and recessed lighting, as well as a large deck facing the courtyard, which is fenced and bordered by tall bamboo for privacy. In addition, the property has separate, one-bedroom, one-bathroom guest quarters.
