Pick your favorite!

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various Austin neighborhoods. Is one person’s studio another person’s townhouse? Let’s find out! Today’s price: $2,100.

1900 Barton Springs Road Unit 3404, one-bedroom, one-bathroom condo apartment, 840 square feet, $2,100/month. A compact space in a Barton Hills complex built in 2014, this corner unit has views of Barton Creek and the lake as well as an in-unit washer/dryer and a reserved parking space.

2106 Holly Street #B, two-bedroom, one-bathroom duplex apartment, 744 square feet, $2,200/month. A fully renovated duplex located in East Austin’s hopping Holly neighborhood, this home has hardwood floors throughout, an in-unit washer and dryer, parking for two cars, and a private, fenced yard. Rent includes cable and HBO, internet service, and a security system.

8621 Brock Circle, three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom house, 1,474 square feet, $2,100/month. This single-family home located in the Far South Austin neighborhood of Grand Oaks neighborhood has open floor plan and has had extensive updates. Lawn care for the large back yard, which is fenced and has a covered patio, is included in the rent.

1210 Windsor Road Apt. 209, two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo apartment, 963 square feet, $2,100/month, all utilities included. An old-school Old West Austin apartment in a complex built in 1960, this place has wood floors and some sweet built-ins in addition to the cachet of its address. The rent includes all bills, which likely represents a substantial, or at least moderate, reduction in a tenant’s cost of living expenses.

2011 Chicon Street, three-bedroom, one-bathroom house, 1,150 square feet, $2,100/month. Located in the tiny Blackland neighborhood just east of UT’s Disch-Falk baseball field, this house was built in 1939 and has longleaf-pine floors and the original clawfoot bathtub. It also has the expected modern conveniences, a covered front porch, and a small, fenced back yard with a deck.
