Weekend street closures: Pecan Street Fest, Livestrong Honor runs

Plus some tailgaters and a farmers markets

After a couple of weeks with a break in marathons, festivals, and other miscellaneous events shutting down central-city streets, we are back to our more typical roster of public celebrating, running, and shopping. Fittingly, road-closing events return in a modest form, highlighted by one-street the Pecan Street Festival, one of the longest-running arts, crafts, and music shindigs in the country and still Old-Austin-scaled.

The biannual festival shares Saturday with the usual Sustainable Food Center farmers market downtown and the Saengerrunde Tailgarten on a block of 17th Street. On Sunday, the Downtown Austin Alliance and Austin City Stage websites.
