Weekend street closures: Texas Tribune Festival and more

Walks and runs join big thinkers around the central city

Fall festival season has kicked in, as is apparent from the events shutting down some central city streets this weekend (as well as the two weekends of ACL Fest, followed by the Texas Book Festival, on the horizon). Specifically, we’re talking about the Texas Tribune Festival, the celebrity-nerd fest that gathers politicians, journalists, policy wonks, and assorted others to discuss issues of state and national importance.

The annual festival, which lasts all weekend, will share Saturday with the NAMIWalks event for the National Alliance on Mental Illness and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Sunday. The usual Sustainable Food Center farmers market downtown will take place both days, as well. The information and maps below come via Downtown Austin Alliance and Austin City Stage websites.
