Let’s just get it out of the way: At this week’s price, apartments are going to be what’s on the menu. That’s not to say they can’t be some good-looking apartments. This one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit in Midtown Commons at Crestview Station goes for $840/month and seems to have all the currently desired amenities, including washer/dryers, high ceilings, and hardwood floors, in its 711 square feet. The gated complex, which is indeed located in Crestview, has a lounge, a pool, and a fitness center. Pets are allowed.

The South Shore Apartments, located in the hopping East Riverside-Oltorf corridor, seem to be mighty proud of the resort-like atmosphere and community amenities, which include a sand beach, a big pool, and lots of palm trees (as well as garage parking and secured entry). There aren’t many photos of the apartment’s 700-square-foot interior—one-bedrooms start at $800/month—but it looks perfectly fine. Pets are welcomed wholeheartedly.

There are also very few photos of the interior of this 544-square-foot studio renting for $810/month, but perhaps the ritzy Tarrytown address makes up for it. The studio looks quite fine, though, with wood floors and plenty of light. It also has a walk-in as well as a standard-size closet, a patio, and storage space. Pets are allowed.

Located in the Agave Falls Apartments in the northeast neighborhood of Coronado Hills, this 703-square-foot, one-bedroom apartment looks to have been updated recently. It’s renting for $819/month and features a spacious patio or balcony (depending on its location in the building), hardwood floors, and plush carpeting. Pets are okay.

More traditional-style apartments can be found at The Grove at Northwest Hills, with one-bedrooms starting at $839/month and measuring 645 square feet. Located in its namesake Northwest Hills neighborhood, it has recently remodeled units with hardwood floors, high ceilings, balconies, and walk-in closets. Pets are allowed.
