If a Barton Hills apartment community with many club-like amenities and easy access to the greenbelt sounds is your thing, this one-bedroom unit might be ideal. Renting for $1,674/month, it has one bedroom and one bathroom, vaulted ceilings, carport parking, and, of course, a convenient location. Pets are allowed.
A one-story, single-family home renting for $1,675/month, this 1979 home is located in a slightly less sizzling zone of South Austin’s hot 78745 area, just south of the intersection of South Congress Avenue and William Cannon Drive in the Buckingham Ridge subdivision. It measures 1,469 square feet and has three bedrooms and two bathroom as well as vinyl plank-wood flooring, vaulted ceilings, a fireplace, and a fully fenced backyard. Pets allowed, although it sounds like large-breed dogs might (or might not!) be an exception—you’ll have to consult the landlord on that one.

This week’s price is the sweet spot for apartments in newer, central, often high-rise buildings. This studio in Skyhouse Austin, located in Downtown’s Rainey Street district, will serve as a fine example of same. Priced at $1,635/month, it has big views and small dimensions (544 square feet) as well as high ceilings, granite countertops, upgraded fixtures, and in-unit laundry facilities. Pets are allowed.

A cute and compact midcentury house/freestanding condo in Brentwood is available for $1,650/month. The red-brick home was built in 1958 and measures 923 square feet and has two bedrooms and one bathroom (yes, it has vintage tile, which looks like it’s in excellent shape to boot). It has recently been remodeled, its carport holds two cars, and pets are allowed.
More pink (and blue) midcentury bathroom tile can be found in this 885-square-foot apartment, located in Tarrytown a mere crosswalk from the tract of green space that currently partially occupied by the Lions Municipal Golf Course. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom spot fully updated apartments, exposed vintage brick accent walls, and a nifty-looking, creatively designed pool. Small dogs are allowed.
