Weekend street closures: 2019 Capitol 10K

The streets will run with runners

Aside from a certain spring festival, most Austin street closures this time of year are of the athletic sort—runs, walks, 10Ks, marathons, bike rides, marches, triathlons, and that sort of thing.

This week’s run is Sunday’s Statesman Capitol 10K Race—one of the most popular and venerable of the lot and the largest 10K in Texas. You’ll find times, closure routes, and a map below.

Sunday, April 7

Street closures 4 a.m. to 11 a.m.

CONGRESS AVENUE BRIDGE

Between Riverside Drive and Cesar Chavez Street

CONGRESS AVENUE

Between Cesar Chavez Street and 11th Street

CESAR CHAVEZ

Between Brazos Street and Colorado Street

11TH STREET

(Partial Closure)

Between Lavaca Street and San Jacinto Boulevard

One eastbound lane will remain open between Brazos and San Jacinto.

2ND STREET - 10TH STREET

Between Colorado Street and Brazos Street

5th Street and 6th Street will close closer to 8:00 a.m.

EAST 12TH STREET - EAST 14TH STREET

Between San Jacinto Boulevard and Trinity Street

15TH STREET

Between Trinity Street and Enfield Road

Between East 11th Street and East 15th Street
