Along with its traditionally volatile weather situations, spring in Austin ushers in the seasonal return of the Pecan Street Festival, one of the longest-running arts, crafts, and music shindigs in the country and still Old-Austin-scaled.

The two-day, biannual festival this weekend shares Saturday with the usual Sustainable Food Center farmers market Downtown and with the Silicon Labs Sunshine Run (5K, 10K, and Kids K) on Sunday. The latter will take place primarily along roads on the north lake shore west of Auditorium Shores, where it starts and ends.

In addition, on Monday the Texas Peace Officers’ Memorial procession will travel through Downtown, starting at the state Capitol.

Of note: Cinco de Mayo events also take place this weekend, and the weather forecast calls for rain and some storms. Check event sites or social media feeds for any cancellations, postponements, and rain dates.
