The newest boutique-lodging project to hit the Eastside will open its doors Monday, the 75-room, East Austin Hotel, will open its doors Monday.

Located in new, four-story building on the corner of East Sixth and Waller streets, the hotel comes from Austin-based La Corsha Hospitality Group and is largely a locally driven affair. It was designed by architect studio Rhode:Partners in collaboration with longtime Austin designers Robin Kelley, who has worked on a number of hospitality projects for Bunkhouse’s Liz Lambert, and Kathy Steele.

Designers drew on midcentury modern and Scandinavian styles and sourced custom craftwork and found art from Denmark, Morocco, and other international locations. Local artisans and makers include HEWN, Nancy Johnson, Shay Spaniola of Bungalo, Tom O’Neill of Austin Table Studio, and woodcrafters Eighty Seven. The hotel also features a new mural by well-known and prolific Austin artist Jason Eatherly.

The hotel hopes to offer a range of rates for travelers of different means. Starting rates currently range from $99/night to $299/night, based on room type. Accommodations range from poolside rooms and suites with private balconies and patios to to more hostel-like “cabins” with private rooms and adjacent, shared bathrooms (albeit “luxe,” spa-like ones, according to press materials). There’s also a courtyard and pool available to guests.

East Austin Hotel will also offer three restaurants and bars. They’ll open along with the hotel on Monday.
