Memorial Day weekend: Street closures

Tri Cap Tex triathlon, UT graduation, and food will occupy central Austin

Leaving the daunting highway and air travel aside, Memorial Day weekend sees a few events that will complicate traffic inside the city as well.

Weekend festivities start early (naturally), with barbecue maestro Aaron Franklin’s Hot Luck Festival officially starting up Thursday—though only for those with big passes and other VIPs. A (very small) street closure for that event starts Friday, when the Hi How Are You? Backyard Barbecue starts up.
