1600 East Fourth Street

A brand-new condo at the Fourth & building in East Cesar Chavez will cost you around $335.000 right now (plus $312 per month in HOA fees). The one-bedroom, one bathroom unit (really, almost a studio) is compact but not unreasonably so at 673 square feet. The nearby Saltillo Plaza and other street-level business should provide plenty of options for leaving the house as well.

A somewhat traditional-style condo off South Lamar Boulevard will put you in the thick of dining, retail, and entertainment opportunities. This one, at $339,900 (plus $357 per month in HOA fees) is on the high end but gets you more space than most in its range (1,196 square feet). The updated unit has one bedroom and one bathroom and features custom light fixtures, wood floors, stainless steel appliances, and a gas fireplace.
