Scandinavian modernism is alive in Crestview

Or at least in this duplex condo, asking $525K

This contemporary duplex condo harks back to a simpler time (2014), when building detached/freestanding condos and exploring the potential of modernism in neighborhoods like Crestview were novel activities in Austin. The clean ‘n’ lean home holds up well, though—and, to be honest, always stood out from many of modern-farmhouse-lite condos now strewn across the city.

While carpet (and maybe event the slate) might not have now been our first choice for flooring, the layout, symmetry, and small but important features such as window design and placement give the design currency as well as longevity. The cherrywood kitchen cabinets, custom built-ins, and small but private courtyard porch and deck off the master bedroom are all nice touches.

Located at 1918 West St. Johns Avenue and asking $525,000, the 1,011-square-foot, one-story home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The listing is held by Sam Archer at Compass.
