While it contains quite a few tells for its 1980s-style updates, this hillside home stays true to an earlier era. Built in 1973 and redesigned by its architect owner, the house is perched on a 0.34-acre lot overlooking Lady Bird Lake. The stacked-stone exterior continues inside and is featured dramatically in a floor-to ceiling wall with a fireplace that separates the living and kitchen areas. A vaulted ceiling and dark paneling meet a wall of large windows and sliding glass doors, in the living room, while a dropped circular ceiling with purple uplighting dominates the other side of the dividing wall. The living area opens on to a house-length, covered deck with views of the treetops and surrounding hills. (There is also, of course, a pinball room, but the machines probably don’t convey.)

The 3,198-square-foot house at 103 East Canyon Circle, in the Bluffington neighborhood just northeast of Rollingwood, has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It’s on the market for $2,150,000 and is listed with Katherine VanDewater of Brigham Real Estate.
