East Riverside-Oltorf
You can score a two-bedroom, two bathroom apartment in East Riverside-Oltorf for $1,200 per month right now. The Montecito Apartments complex has said units, measuring 948 square feet, with community amenities such as covered parking, a fitness center, a pool, and shared laundry facilities—though some units have their own washer/dryer hookups as well as fireplaces and balconies/patios. Cats and small dogs are allowed.
West Congress/South Austin
Those who favor a more house-y home (with a yard and such), please see this 900-square-foot duplex in the West Congress neighborhood, part of the 78745 South Austin ZIP. The single-story unit was built in 1956 and has two bedrooms, one bathroom, washer/dryer connections, and wood floors. Cats and dogs are allowed, though the total number of pets is limited to one. It’s renting for $1,195 per month.
Barton Hills
For those who prefer a swankier South Austin location, say in Barton Hills, please find this two-bedroom, one bathroom apartment at Landmark At Barton Creek. Measuring 850 square feet, it’s renting for $1,249 per month. Some units feature washer-dryer connections and patios or balconies, and all have access to the pool, fitness center, and, of course, nearby trails. Cats and small dogs are allowed.
North Loop
If you’re more the North Loop type and enjoy HEB proximity, there is a 500-square-foot studio renting for $1,240 per month in neighborhood. The renovated apartments have in-unit washer/dryers, hardwood floors, new cabinetry, granite countertops, black appliances, and ceiling fans. It’s a pet-friendly community with an onsite dog park and no breed or weight restrictions.
Clarksville
This small but adorable studio in Clarksville should offer all the downtown and neighborhood conveniences your heart desires, if your heart desires small-scale but bustling urban amenities. While it is somewhat petite as Austin apartments go (400 square feet), you get oak hardwood or stained concrete floors and a combo washer/dryer for $1,200 per month. Plus pets are allowed, and there’s a dog park across the street.
