10 Austin homes on the market for under $200K

Yep, mostly condos

View as Map

Just as it can be entertaining to take a peek at the most expensive homes for sale in Austin, it can be interesting—as well as helpful, if you’re home-hunting—to see what’s available at the most affordable end of the spectrum.

The challenges for each list are different. In the case of least-expensive homes, they tend to be 1) condominiums, and 2) condominiums clustered in the same neighborhoods and even the same complexes—particularly student-heavy areas such as neighborhoods north and west of the University of Texas and East Riverside-Oltorf. For variety, this list includes representative examples of similar condos rather than going strictly by every price increment.

We’ve also excluded mobile homes, obvious tear-downs, and homes that have income qualifications for affordability. Our research is also limited to the largest and most-used listings sites, so it’s possible we missed a good home to include here if it’s a private listing or for sale by owner. Think of this map as a snapshot or a starting point, depending on whether you’re on the home hunt or just curious.

Properties are ordered from highest to lowest price.
